5 Artists with 5 different vibes and 5 different stories will be sharing, 1 stage for 1 night using 1 thing, Music!

Stone Jets turned one this year. Having learnt so much in such a short space of time, we've met people who share the same sentiment and have made our journey even more worthwhile. We'd like to share our newly made friendships with the people that have supported us so far and seem to believe in what we do.

Don't stop us now, we are on to something...

Stone Jets will be sharing the stage with friends : Fruit Vendor, Richard Stirton, Mary Anne Constable and Marie Claire de Villiers.

5 Artists with 5 different vibes and 5 different stories will be sharing, 1 stage for 1 night using 1 thing, Music!

Stone Jets :
Out of genuine interest and love for music, Stone Jets was born. Music has the ability of making you feel like a flying jet even when the world weighs you down like a stone… From acoustic to big band, their music jumps borders. With all said and done, it remains all about the music. Stone Jets is: Given and Manfred

Richard Stirton :
Born and bred Cape Town boy. Went to Rondebosch boys high. Studied business science at UCT in 2013 but currently taking a gap year to pursue his music career. Work at stardust restaurant in Woodstock and loving life doing music.

Brian Bohlin moved here from the states in 2007. Same year he picked up a guitar and has been playing amazing blues riffs ever since. Jimmy Hendrix is a hero of his. Teamed up with Richard at the beginning of 2014 to start writing originals and get a band going. Been a struggle though because he is in matric this year. Well hopefully he would have just matriculated in fact (from Rondebsoch boys High)

Fruit Vendor :
Born from an impromptu songwriting session, the name Fruit Vendor; first a title of a song and somewhat an ode to the human condition became the most preferred title of a melodic alternative hip hop/folk artist from the hinterland of Cape Town’s music scene in Stellenbosch. – Fruit Vendor creates a fresh sound that appeals to a diverse audience.

Marie Claire de Villiers:
Marie-Claire is a singer/songwriter/producer from Cape Town. Having studied classical music and opera, she has always kept an alter-ego root in electro and has written and performed in a broad range of genres including electro, rock, and soul. She loves an array of musical flavours and enjoys her own wide range of genres and experiments through songwriting.

Mary Anne Constable :
Mary Anne Constable has been writing poetry and singing in the shower most of her life. A late bloomer by music world standards, she got her first guitar at the age of 21 and began to turn her poetry into songs and discovered that she had a voice too! She creates her own unique fusion of soulful folk melodies combined with honest and incisive lyrics - an intense reflection of the journey through life and experience of The human condition. She released her first single "Twenty Nine" in October 2014 which is available for free download on noistetrade.com/maryannesong. She has plans to record a full album in 2015. Find her on facebook at facebook.com/maryannesong.

Audience Responses

A diverse and talented group of musicians. Any one of them would be worthy of a solo performance at the Alexander. There seems to have been a problem with the right speaker, which cut out intermittently during the last bit of the show. It's probably worth checking and replacing faulty cables.

Amazing show thanks a lot! It was our first time too and really enjoyed that it was so relaxed and intimate. Enjoyed all the artists especially Fruit Vendor and the Stone Jets. One negative aspect is that the bar lady helping us was unf quite rude. We did arrive late though just expected her to rather be informative than condecending. Other than that great night and thanks again!
