Mandragora circus is a wordless theatre performance where two clowns tell a story of comedy and love in which dialogue is visible without words. Circus stunts, music and unconventional instruments weave the acts of this play together where gestures are the only thing that allows the audience to imagine situations, conflicts and solutions in a delicate story for all audiences. Presented by the Argentinian company, Mandragora Circo who have been touring world-wide over three continents over the last 5 years. They've toured in over 25 countries on a route that has taken them through America, Europe and now in Africa and for the first time in Cape Town.
Mandragora Circus premiered in Trelew, Chubut Patagonia Argentina in 2003. Since its premiere this show has been presented in various theatres and festivals over 13 years of touring and performing. In 2010, after 8 years of touring Argentina, the company started a tour of the Americas, from Patagonia, Argentina to Alaska in the US. They performed in major theatres and festivals in South, Central and North America. This includes the "The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts" in Washington D.C, as well as the International Festival of Nuevo Leon, Mexico. From 2015 they continued their European tour, performing in Romania, Poland, Bosnia, Herzegovina and France.

2016 sees the start of their African tour. Having already started in Morocco and Tunisia, they will be performing in South Africa for the first time in May 2016, presenting the show that has captivated audiences across the globe for over a decade. Read more at: www.mandragoracirco.com.ar

Very good entertainment. Your decor is fantastic but your food needs improvement. Root crisps were soggy and burger patties not tasty. We would like to visit again. But not for the food.

So precise and nuanced. The performers are so adept, accomplished, fluid and relaxed. They totally transcend the space. Compelling and skillful.

We really enjoyed the show....charming and lovely. However the food not so much....burgers with cheap tasteless crisps? Stale breadrolls and bland chicken? Not great at all

Beautifully executed circus disciplines and lovely expression, the audience participation was well timed and judged. The piece also worked really well in the space - awesome choice of programming thanks for getting them back again as I missed their first visit.
