After a sold-out show last time she performed at Alexander Bar, Lexi Frame returns to this fabulous venue.

Lexi Frame is a Cape Town-based songstress backed by a kick-ass band of keys, bass  and drums. Her sound has an acoustic pop base, but is far from innocent. Think strong melodies and good harmonics, with a cheeky, feisty and sometimes melancholy twist – she calls it “rebel pop”.

"Lexi Frame was up next, a pretty dark haired girl who looks vaguely familiar. Her ready smile and excellent crowd interaction makes you want to be her friend immediately. Her facebook page says her genre is “girly pop” and she lists influences like Taylor Swift and Michelle Branch.  The crowd was very excited to see her on stage and during her whole set she gamely laughed and bantered with the audience. Once she started singing I realized that this girl is much more than just a pretty face. Her voice is incredibly strong and has a beautiful warm quality to it. Her songs are upbeat in melody and sweet in lyrics. Her girly, folk-pop inspired songs make you want to dance and the lyrics make you smile, even when they are bittersweet. Lexi is an incredibly talented musician with a great flair for songwriting. The crowd loves her and she was happy to oblige them by playing her more well-known songs, “Backslide” and “The Wild Side”. Her set was also short but long enough for me to know that I will definitely be looking out to hear her play again very soon."
