The Long Shots return to Alexander Bar once again, to bring you their reliably hilarious brand of improvised comedy!

Using an audience suggestion as their starting point, the troupe will create improvised scenes right before your eyes: making up characters, dialogue and environments as they go along. Nothing is preplanned, there is no script, and no one knows what is going to happen - it's the theatrical equivalent of a tightrope walk... With no net!

The Long Shots have been growing the local improv scene since their inception in 2011 with a variety of classes, workshops and jams throughout the year. They perform every Monday night at the Armchair Theatre, a comedy hub in Observatory. They also hold a Drop-In class every Thursday from 19:30 to 21:30 where absolutely anyone can try their hand at improvised comedy! Always taking their cue from a 'what if?' angle on life, The Long Shots aim to make Cape Town a place where 'yes... and!' becomes the leading paradigm!

Audience Responses

It was brilliant. I was skeptical as I've seen some other improv groups in CT but it was not only hilarious but real. Amazing observational humour, the best. I'm going to their Monday night gig tonight at armchair to get another comedy hit. Thanks!

I thought the Long Shots were excellent. What a wonderful, intimate setting to enjoy the raw essence of acting that is improv. Will be back!
