For Generations is an energetic one person show that has been running since 2008, enjoying a national and international tour in formal and informal theatre venues. Kurt Egelhof uses the technique of autobiography to tell a universal story about the legacy we leave for our children's children for generations to come. Who would think a WW2 veteran could produce a future Protea captain of color, and that they would experience the almost identical life path in two totally different worlds?

"a riveting biography, which holds the audience spellbound" - Maurice Kort, artSMART
Kurt Egelhof graduated from the UKZN in 1980 with a B.A. in Speech and Drama, in a time when South Africa had no place for artists or actors of colour - the numerous offers to play racially caricatured degenerates not withstanding. Somehow Kurt was able to carve out a respectable career as an actor in pre-and-post apartheid SA, and to garner international recognition for his professional standards and expertise. For Generations is the story of that story!

I loved the ambience of the Theatre and your café. Generations was absolutely fantastic. Kurt is a wonderful friend and actor. Friends and I will attend and visit the café again in the near future.

Easy to relate to each character. Excellent solo performance which is always challenging. Like how each character story is linked together from past good and bad to present good and bad with doses of sharp humour in between. Great and helpful supporting backstage staff.

A good balance of pathos and humour. We were under no misconceptions of the hurt Apartheid inflicted on Kurt's family, but before things became too morbid he injected just the right amount of humour without seeming too flippant and lessening the impact of the overall message.

I enjoyed the show, the subject is in line with some work I'm dong at the moment, so was particularly relevant. I enjoyed the feeling that the Alexander bar was up for 'testing' the waters with one show and then open at 8 for another. Double bill of theatre - love it.
