Multi-instrumentalist Maxim Starcke and percussionist Ronan Skillen collaborate to venture into and across sonic realms of the imagination. Their debut album entitled FORGERY explores intuitive sound-composition and otherworldly, ecstatic improvisatory streams as compositions emerge from the creative energy of the live performance. Drawing on their artistic inspirations and musical knowledge, Starcke and Skillen venture through sonic scenes and possible landscapes, reacting with and against each other, reinforcing musical gestures and textures with subtle and prominent strokes of sound as if painting in the ether.

FORGERY was launched at The Forge in Kalk Bay and The Mahogany Room in Cape Town, South Africa on the 25th and 26th of May respectively.

I've heard them before but the venue was magical, sound was fabulous, and the experience intimate. I wish the concert was longer.... For those of us who don't walk well on high stairs, the venue presents some problems... Otherwise, fab!
