Stellenbosch musician Oddo Bam is driven by a commitment towards creating thoughtful and meaningful music. He released his debut album, The Fox and the Furrow, in November 2016. The album tells the story of a man who wakes up in the morning and decides to sell all he has. It is the story of a pilgrimage.

Stellenbosch Musician Oddo Bam's peculiarly personal approach to fan-engagement has proven to be an effective one. His Crowdfunding campaign, which ran from August to October this year, saw more than R50 000 in pledges streaming in from loyal fans – all aimed at helping Oddo Bam create his long-awaited debut album – The Fox and the Furrow.
Oddo Bam and his band recorded the The Fox and the Furrow at SUN Studios in Stellenbosch and released it on the 1st of November 2016.
The 12 songs on the album feature different styles but form a structured and coherent whole. Beautiful riffs delivered in clean-cutting guitar tones, as well as punchy and creative drumming are some of the standout features of the record. The lyrics all center on the theme of a pilgrimage.
"This record tells the story of a man who wakes up in the morning and decides to sell all he has", Oddo says. "It's a story full of tracks, autumn leaves, fragrant soil and birds whistling migration songs."
Hearing an album live always adds additional thrills and remains a unique experience. The Pilgrimage continues with every chord strummed, and with every beating drum.
