Our party had mixed response... One loved Herzon Chetty's 'soulful' playing and all agreed that he is talented and took a risk with this 'tale'. The others thought, although speaking about his wide musical influences, that all the music pretty much sounded same on a continuum. The sound level was too high for the room size we all thought. Comment was also made that the performance needed direction ie a Director. Three out of four of us wouldn't attend another Chetty performance of this kind.

Clearly an extremely talented violinist, who is doing very innovative work as an artist, but very jarring and unmelodious. For me, the acoustics were way too loud for your small venue. Would love to have heard a more detailed narrative, such that we were not left in the dark as to for example, what happened with his relationship with his father, why he didn't like India etc. I was left feeling very empty and frustrated in terms of hearing the start of an intriguing story/journey and not being filled in as regards the end result. Drug trafficking - what happened ? etc...
