Presented by Kristen Koning, WomanSong is a celebration of music by female artists. Kristen Koning, Sky Dladla and Thandeka Mfinyongo will take you on an unforgettable journey of joy, sorrow, defeat and victory through music.

Presented by Kristen Koning, WomanSong is an hour-long celebration of the female musician and artist. This journey includes original music by Kristen Koning, as well as music by local artist Alice Phoebe Lou and international artist Lady Gaga. Combining folk music with an African flair, this show will make you feel right at home.

Kristen Koning is an Afrikaans Indie-Folk musician based in Cape Town. Originally from KZN, and currently studying music, Koning uses a combination of her classical training and love of folk music to create a beautifully haunting acoustic experience. She performs original music and covers in both English and Afrikaans.

Thandeka is a bold and powerful black artist who feels a deep desire to make her mark in the world. A tremendous presence on stage, she brings over 20 years of experience as a vocalist and over 5 years of playing the uhadi and umrhubhe. She is inspired by older generations of black musicians such as Madosini who she spends time with, learning and deepening her knowledge.

Sky Dladla was born in the township of Gugulethu, Cape Town. Sky is an African instrumentalist, a percussionist, marimba maker, a songwriter, singer and bow instrument maker. Sky has graduated the University of Cape Town with a Diploma and an Advance Diploma in African Instruments and now she’s completing her Post Grad Diploma in African Music. She is the founder of Blackroots Marimbas, the co-founder of Azanian Aesthetics and duo Indigenous Too.
