Terms between “us” (Alexander Bar) and “you” – customer of Alexander Bar.
No Unaccompanied Minors
Due to the terms of our liquor license, under 18s are not allowed in the bar or theatre, except when accompanied by a parent or guardian, or by an adult with the consent of a parent or a guardian.
Seating is unreserved. All seats are good seats but please arrive in good time to ensure you can sit together. Please make front-of-house staff aware of any special requirements before the show.
We may offer a small discount when tickets are prepaid by means of automated self-service on-line booking. The discount is offered to pass on to you some of the benefit of reduced risk of human error from our side, and our reduced administrative overhead. To qualify for the discount, both reservation and payment must be made by you through our website. A booking that is made over the telephone, email, after a failed attempt to pay on-line (whether caused by a fault in our systems or not), or by means of staff attendance will not be eligible for this discount.
Refunds will be made in the form of gift vouchers valid for 3 years from the date of refund. These vouchers are able to be used for any payment at the bar and are transferable. Unused portion of voucher can be used on subsequent visits. Refund/Gift vouchers may also be used for online purchases through the Alexander Bar website.
Refunds for tickets sold will only be issued in the following cases:
- If management or the artist cancels the show
- Management may at its discretion refund cancelled tickets if you have given us more than 24 hours notice
- If there is a technical fault or duplicate transaction due to our online booking system or upstream payment providers (see below). Please note that as we do not store card details we will require some information from you in order to process a refund
In all other cases refunds will not be considered after a show has commenced.
Where we are obliged or have undertaken to give you a refund, we will endeavour to return the funds by the same means as they were transmitted. Where this is not possible due to technical or other limitations we will either issue a gift voucher or make an EFT deposit by arrangement with you.
We use industry-standard SSL encryption (https) on the booking pages and also between our system and our upstream payment providers: MyGate (Visa and MasterCard), I-Pay (instant EFT to the 6 major banks), Luno (for Bitcoin and in future other cryptos) and SnapScan. We do not retain your card information in our database. This is why you need to re-enter your card details each time you purchase tickets with us.
Please allow at least 30 minutes grace before the start of the show to collect your tickets so as not to delay the start of the show. Food orders may only be placed 1 hour before the start of the show however you’re welcome to pre-order meals for after the show.
Florin Loyalty Programme
When purchasing from the bar, it is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that the correct Florin account has been applied to their bill. The Florin details will appear on the printed bill. When purchasing from the website, customers must enter their 5-digit Florin number for their online spend to count towards their Florin spends. Whenever Florin discounts are consumed, a copy of the bill will also be emailed to the address associated with the Florin account. On each Monday afternoon, once a total spend of R1000 has been reached, a R100 Florin discount voucher will be awarded. This will automatically be deducted from the next spend in the bar. Florin discounts are not deducted from ticket sales, only from food and beverage sales. Closed bills cannot be retrospectively applied to a Florin account. Enrollment in the Florin programme is entirely at the discretion of management and the offer may be canceled at any time.
